For this Northern Finance review, I put the service through its paces and invested \u20ac3,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group nf-info-boxen\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p class=\"nf-boxen-p-gut-zu-wissen\"><strong>In brief:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"infobox-ul\">\n<li class=\"infobox-li\">The Swiss platform SwissBorg has been offering cryptocurrency trading and investment services since 2017<\/li>\n<li class=\"infobox-li\">The company is licensed in France and Estonia and is regulated by the financial supervisory authorities in those countries<\/li>\n<li class=\"infobox-li\">When comparing regulated crypto exchanges, SwissBorg offers the most favourable terms<\/li>\n<li class=\"infobox-li\">An in-house cryptocurrency, $BORG, allows users to reduce trading costs by up to 99% and maximise their passive income<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">My SwissBorg review: Key information at a glance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s no secret that cryptocurrencies play a significant role in <a href=\"https:\/\/northern.finance\/en\/my-depot\/\">my portfolio<\/a>. An ICO in 2018 raised $52 million for the company\u2019s own cryptocurrency, $BORG \u2013 making it the tenth-largest initial coin offering in the world to date! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Since then, the company has grown from an initial staff of nine to over 250 today. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The company also made huge strides in terms of market capitalisation: in 2022, it reached the magic USD 1 billion mark. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SwissBorg has been licensed by the Estonian financial authorities to issue digital currencies since 2020. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In 2026, the MiCA licence was introduced in France, regulating (crypto) financial instruments, trading venues and more. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is where SwissBorg really shines, in an area where even major crypto exchanges often fall short: a lack of regulation is not just an abstract security risk \u2013 authorities can shut down such non-compliant providers at any time, and the consequences for users are enormous!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Costs and fees: The SwissBorg crypto app is great value!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A wide selection of coins or extras such as savings plans is no longer a unique selling point among crypto apps these days. Instead, the biggest differences lie in the fees charged for trading cryptocurrencies! It\u2019s not just active traders who appreciate this price difference! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How does SwissBorg manage to undercut its competitors so significantly?<\/strong> The company describes itself as a \u201cmeta-exchange\u201d (MEX). In plain terms, this means that rather than processing transactions centrally itself, it utilises the most favourable rates available from other crypto exchanges and the Solana and Avalanche exchange networks.  <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"733\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/northern.finance\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Grafik-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-331137\" style=\"width:408px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/northern.finance\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Grafik-2.png 733w, https:\/\/northern.finance\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Grafik-2-220x300.png 220w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 733px) 100vw, 733px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My experience so far shows that this approach works perfectly: <strong>I invested \u20ac3,000 in Bitcoin <\/strong> and sold it again shortly afterwards to put the app through its paces. In fact, <strong>only \u20ac3.02 in fees was charged<\/strong> for the sale of BTC worth \u20ac2,830.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exchange routes can sometimes be quite convoluted: for example, if I try to exchange euros for Avalanche, my money is first converted into USDC via the \u201cBullish\u201d exchange and then into Avalanche via the Uniswap network.
