Conclusion: Why I invest in Bondora

The Bondora platform is best known for its P2P lending services, but it also offers other financial products. Bondora offers investors the opportunity to finance loans with their own capital. The amount of private consumer loans usually ranges from €500 to €10,000. Bondora was founded in 2008 and has since established itself firmly on the market.

Security Bondora

Compared to its competitors, Bondora is considered a conservative company that always prioritises security and reserves. Comparable providers with a similar business model are often considered aggressive and seek to distinguish themselves by offering the highest possible interest rates. For many investors, this is precisely what makes the company attractive. It is also worth mentioning that the platform is regulated by the Estonian Financial Supervision Authority.

The success of this model was evident during the coronavirus pandemic: financial difficulties led to many loan defaults. However, Bondora emerged from the economic downturn largely unscathed. The only measure that investors noticed was a transaction limit of €400 per month.

Return opportunities Bondora

Transactions on Bondora depend primarily on your own strategy and the diversification of your portfolio. If you are well informed and assess risks realistically, you can achieve returns of over 15 percent. Nevertheless, it is important to note that returns vary greatly. The average return on the platform is 7.6 percent.

One of the most popular products is Go & Grow. The fixed interest rate of 6.75 percent is particularly attractive to investors. The high level of security is another advantage of this type of investment.

It should also be mentioned that Bondora has set a monthly deposit limit of €1,000 per investor. Demand from investors exceeds the supply of loans, which is why this measure was introduced. Withdrawals are still possible in unlimited amounts.

Automated investments

The automated investment function is practical. Investors can pursue their strategy by specifying certain guidelines. This saves investors time that they would otherwise have to invest in manually searching for loans. Manual searches are not always useful, especially for consumer loans from Bondora, as consumer loans are quite similar.

Bondora costs

The use of the platform is free of charge. No fees are payable upon registration, use or deposits. A fee of €1 is payable when money is withdrawn. These costs apply to Bondora Go & Grow, Portfolio Manager and Portfolio Pro.

Higher costs are incurred if you trade on the secondary market, you have already invested in a loan and have to exit prematurely due to unforeseen events. In this case, you can sell your loan to another user, but this will incur a fee of 1.5 per cent of your investment. The buyer of the loan must also pay 1.5 per cent.

Bondora offer

Portfolio Pro offers investors the option of automatically searching for suitable loans, which can save them time. Within a few minutes, small steps can be taken to select criteria such as the desired term or the amount per loan.

Go & Grow is one of Bondora’s best-known products: investors do not invest their money in personal loans, but rather in Bondora’s portfolio itself. Investors place their trust in the company, as it is responsible for the organisation. In return, investors receive 6.75% interest per annum.

The Portfolio Manager is a combination of the first two offerings, but offers the opportunity to exert more influence on investments. Six presets are available for investors to choose from. Depending on the option selected, investors can take an approach ranging from ‘ultra-conservative’ to ‘opportunistic,’ allowing every investor to find a suitable offering.
